| January 15, 2002 - The New York Times has published their on-going Portraits of Grief series on-line HERE. These are touching, albeit incomplete, glimpses of the lives that were tragically ended on September 11th. |
As of September 20, 2001 the index is no longer being updated. There are now available many official sources of information which are more complete and reliable. The search is still active and will remain up and active for the foreseeable future.
If you are looking for information about a specific missing person please call the Red Cross at (212) 560-2730. This number is only for missing person inquiries.

If you do not see a name you are looking for, do not be distraught THIS CATALOG IS NOT COMPLETE!
If you contact us, we may be able to put you in touch with someone who has additional information.
If you know the cell phone or pager number or someone still missing after the WTC disaster please call FEMA at 1-877-8579. They will be using these to try to pin-point the location of these devices.
Suggestion: Search on just the last name with default settings
- The City of New York has posted an OFFICIAL Web database of victims that have been brought to area hospitals at 63.209.170.9/wtc/search.asp - This site is not in this search index.
- If you are missing a family member from the WTC disaster you are encouraged to go to the New York Armory on Lexington to file a report
- If you work in the WTC and have not yet contacted your employer, please do so immediately so you will not be assumed missing.
- The City of NY currently has a list of just over 6.300 people that are still unaccounted for. I do not have a copy, or a source, of that list.
- DO NOT respond to ANY telephone or e-mail requests for donations. Donate ONLY to organizations that you are familiar with. Do not donate just because the organization's name sounds official.
